Remember Escher
During my mathematical years in The Netherlands, I came across this graphic artist who had a different view of art. His work features mathematical objects and operations including impossible objects, explorations of infinity and more. (see the Wikipedia article here for more information).
Before being exposed to Escher, I had not really been exposed to art so it took a while to get used to. I loved the impossible objects art he created as I could stare at this picture for example just to figure out how this was drawn:
Why am I remembering Escher today is because of this article. The biggest thing I take away is that you don’t have to Excel (!!) at university, college, high school. Or focus on getting the best marks possible, because in the end, what matters is which path you follow.
