What’s (y)our story?
Ride on the bus
So today was the day. No other way around it: I had to take the bus.
Now taking the bus in other places I’ve lived (The Netherlands for example) is easy peasy. You just decide where you want to go, look the route up [online] and the bus will be there on time like clockwork. 7:08 AM means exactly that: 7:08 AM.
Being part of the privileged society where having a car was always a mandatory thing… that changed my perspective. So today I stepped out of my comfort zone. No, make that “I jumped out of my comfort zone”! Another little victory yay!
Sitting in the bus being driven by a very nice gentleman with twinkling eyes, hearing co-passengers converse about what the day was going to bring them, feeling every bump in the road made me realize how easy it is to get stuck in your own head of what life looks like – or should look like.
My advice to myself? Stop being afraid to push my own boundaries. I might just be pleasantly surprised!
